BACKGROUND: Dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) are multipotent stem cells capable of self-renewal and differentiation into a variety of cell types. Their accessibility, regenerative potential, and immunomodulatory properties have made them an attractive source for regenerative medicine.

METHODS: The authors reviewed current knowledge regarding DPSC biology, differentiation capacity, regenerative mechanisms, and therapeutic applications across multiple fields of medicine.

RESULTS: Studies demonstrated that DPSCs can contribute to bone regeneration, neural repair, angiogenesis, wound healing, and immune regulation. The review also highlighted the therapeutic potential of DPSC-derived extracellular vesicles and exosomes.

CONCLUSIONS: This review showed that dental pulp stem cells possess broad regenerative capabilities and may play an important role in future regenerative medicine therapies.
