BACKGROUND: Effective wound healing requires inflammation control, angiogenesis, and tissue remodeling. Dental pulp stem cells have emerged as a promising tool for promoting tissue repair.
METHODS: The authors reviewed studies investigating the mechanisms through which dental pulp stem cells contribute to cutaneous and mucosal healing.
RESULTS: Studies showed that dental pulp stem cells promote wound healing through immune regulation, angiogenesis, extracellular matrix remodeling, and paracrine signaling.
CONCLUSIONS: This review showed that dental pulp stem cells may support tissue repair and wound healing across multiple tissue types. Future studies may help expand their role in regenerative medicine.
